Yas Island with kids — where to stay for the parks.
By Yeshwin · Founder of Fostay — I live in the UAE and personally check every hotel we list.
The best Yas Island hotel for families is The WB Abu Dhabi if Warner Bros. World is the headline act, and DoubleTree Yas Island Residences if you want apartment-style space at the island's best prices. Yas Island packs Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World, SeaWorld and Yas Waterworld into one compact island 25 minutes from Abu Dhabi city — the only place in the region where one hotel covers four major theme parks without a single long transfer.
The island, in one minute.
Four big parks — Ferrari World (home of the world's fastest roller coaster), Warner Bros. World (the giant indoor DC and Looney Tunes park), SeaWorld Abu Dhabi (opened 2023) and Yas Waterworld — plus the CLYMB indoor adventure hub, Yas Mall, the Yas Links golf course, Etihad Arena's concert calendar on the Yas Bay waterfront, and the Yas Marina Circuit that hosts the Formula 1 finale every December. Everything sits minutes apart, and multi-park tickets make park-hopping the default rather than a logistics project. That density is the entire argument for staying on the island instead of day-tripping in.
Five hotels, honestly sorted.
Prices below are live for the coming weekend — 2 adults + 2 children, 2 nights, all-in — because the family total is the only number that matters here.
The WB Abu Dhabi, Curio Collection by Hilton — the world's first Warner Bros. hotel, next to the park itself
For: Kids who came for Warner Bros. World and want the hotel to be part of the show
The whole hotel is a Warner Bros. set — character art in the corridors, DC and Looney Tunes everywhere, and Warner Bros. World a few minutes away. Family rooms run to two double beds, and some rate plans bundle theme-park access with the room, so check the room names when you compare: a slightly dearer rate that already includes park entry for the kids usually beats a cheap room plus gate tickets. This is the hotel our own guests book more than any other in Abu Dhabi.
DoubleTree by Hilton Yas Island Residences — apartment-style space at the island's friendliest prices
For: Families who want a kitchen, a washing machine and room to spread out
Residence-style units instead of a single hotel room — the practical pick when you're doing three park days with children and need somewhere to actually live in between. You trade resort theatre for space and value, and on our live pricing it's regularly the cheapest way to put a family of four on Yas Island.
Crowne Plaza Yas Island by IHG — the dependable mid-range base beside Yas Links
For: Families who want solid four-star comfort without resort pricing
Part of the original cluster of hotels at the heart of the island, next to the Yas Links golf course and a short hop from every park. Nothing about it is trying to be an attraction — which is exactly the appeal when the attractions are the reason you came and the hotel just needs to do breakfast, pools and sleep properly.
Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island — Yas Bay waterfront, beach club and the evening side of the island
For: Families who want park days AND a proper waterfront evening scene
On the Yas Bay waterfront at the island's southern tip, with its own beach club and the promenade of restaurants outside the door — plus Etihad Arena, the island's concert venue, in walking distance. The grown-up pick: parks by day, waterfront dinner by night, without ever getting in a taxi off the island.
W Abu Dhabi — Yas Island — the hotel built over the F1 circuit
For: The architecture-and-occasion stay — and racing families
The famous LED-shelled landmark straddling the Yas Marina Circuit — the track literally passes beneath the hotel. Outside race season it's a striking design hotel with marina views at surprisingly reasonable prices for what it is. During Grand Prix week in December it becomes the most sought-after address in the Emirates, and prices behave accordingly.
The kids-pricing trap
The most common family-booking mistake on Yas Island: booking a room for two adults and planning to "just bring the kids". Hotels price children by age — kids' breakfast, extra occupancy, park bundles — and when children aren't on the booking, those costs surface at the front desk instead of on the booking screen. Every link in this guide carries the children with their ages into the live rates, so the total you see is the total the hotel expects. Change the ages to match your family on any hotel page and the prices re-quote instantly.
Quick answers.
Which hotels are on Yas Island?
Yas Island's hotels cluster around its attractions: The WB Abu Dhabi sits next to Warner Bros. World, the W Abu Dhabi is built over the Yas Marina F1 circuit, Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island anchors the Yas Bay waterfront, and a central cluster including Crowne Plaza and DoubleTree Residences sits beside Yas Links golf course — all within a few minutes of the four theme parks.
Is Yas Island or Dubai better for theme parks?
Yas Island concentrates four major parks — Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World, SeaWorld and Yas Waterworld — within minutes of each other, so one hotel covers a whole multi-park trip. Dubai's parks are spread across the city. For a dedicated theme-park holiday with children, Yas Island is the more efficient base; Dubai wins when parks are one day of a bigger city trip.
How far is Yas Island from Dubai and Abu Dhabi city?
Yas Island sits on the Dubai side of Abu Dhabi, right off the E11 highway: roughly 50–60 minutes' drive from central Dubai and 25–30 minutes from downtown Abu Dhabi or the Corniche. Abu Dhabi airport is about 15 minutes away, which makes it one of the easiest UAE resort areas to reach after a landing.
Do Yas Island hotel rates include theme park tickets?
Some do — hotels on the island sell specific rate plans with theme-park access bundled in, and you can see them in the room names when you compare rates. A room that already includes park entry is often better value than the cheapest room plus gate tickets bought separately, especially for several park days.
How do children's prices work at Yas Island hotels?
Hotels price children by age, so declare every child with their age when you book — not at the front desk. A rate booked for two adults only can mean surprise charges at check-in for kids' breakfast or park extras. When the children are on the booking from the start, the rate you see already includes them, and the price at the desk matches the price on the screen.
When should you avoid booking Yas Island?
Formula 1 week — 3–6 December 2026 — when the Grand Prix at Yas Marina Circuit multiplies prices across the whole island and hotels fill with race-goers. Unless you're coming for the race, shift the trip a week either side and the island returns to normal family pricing.
