Abu Dhabi F1 2026 — where to stay for the finale.
By Yeshwin · Founder of Fostay — I live in the UAE and personally check every hotel we list.
The Formula 1 season finale runs 3–6 December 2026 at Yas Marina Circuit, and where you sleep decides what the weekend feels like. Stay on Yas Island and the circuit, the parks and the after-race concerts at Etihad Arena are a walk or a shuttle away. Stay on the Corniche, 30 minutes out, and the same weekend costs a fraction. Every price below is live for the real bookable unit — the full Thursday-to-Monday race block, all taxes in.
Six ways to do race week.
Prices are live for 3–7 December 2026 — 4 nights, 2 adults, all-in — and still bookable as of 5 Oct 2026.
W Abu Dhabi — Yas Island
On the circuit — the race passes beneath your hotel
The LED-shelled landmark built over the Yas Marina Circuit itself — the track runs underneath the hotel, and race week here is one of motorsport's famous stays. This is the address every F1 fan knows, it books accordingly, and it prices accordingly: expect the biggest premium on the island for the only hotel that is physically part of the circuit.
Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island
On the island — Yas Bay waterfront, walk to the arena
On the Yas Bay waterfront with Etihad Arena — where the after-race entertainment happens — in walking distance. Race days end at the concerts, and staying here means the night ends with a stroll along the waterfront instead of a fight for taxis off the island. The strongest on-island pick if the full race-plus-shows weekend is the point.
Crowne Plaza Yas Island by IHG
On the island — the sensible four-star base
In the original hotel cluster beside Yas Links, minutes from the circuit gates. Nothing flashy — which during F1 week is precisely the play: you're on the island for the whole weekend at a fraction of the circuit-hotel price, and the money you save funds better grandstand seats.
The WB Abu Dhabi, Curio Collection by Hilton
On the island — bringing the family to race week
Race week with kids is genuinely workable on Yas: Warner Bros. World and the other parks run all weekend, so one adult can do qualifying while the other does roller coasters. The WB hotel next to the park is the family base that makes the split-day work, and it's the hotel our own Abu Dhabi guests book most.
Radisson Blu Hotel & Resort, Abu Dhabi Corniche
The value play — Corniche, 30 minutes from the gates
The classic F1-week arbitrage: stay on Abu Dhabi's Corniche seafront at a fraction of island pricing and drive or taxi in — about 30 minutes each way. You give up the walk-home-from-the-concert, you keep thousands of dirhams. On our live pricing this is consistently the cheapest respectable way to attend the Grand Prix.
Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental
The blowout — Abu Dhabi's palace for the finale
If the season finale is the occasion of the year, this is the occasion hotel: the gold-domed palace on its own Corniche bay, half an hour from the circuit. Race week fills it with the paddock-club crowd, and the evening scene is its own event.
Watching the prices?
We track the Grand Prix window daily. Yas Island is historically sold out by late autumn while the Corniche holds value into November — and it runs straight out of the UAE National Day long weekend, so early December is one continuous super-peak across both emirates.
Quick answers.
When is the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2026?
The 2026 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix runs 3–6 December 2026 at Yas Marina Circuit on Yas Island — the 24th and final race of the Formula 1 season. The race itself is on Sunday 6 December, with practice and qualifying across Friday and Saturday.
Where should you stay for the Abu Dhabi F1?
Stay on Yas Island if the after-race concerts and the walk-to-the-gates weekend matter: the W Abu Dhabi sits over the circuit itself, and hotels like Hilton Yas Island and Crowne Plaza are minutes away. Stay on the Corniche — around 30 minutes out — if you'd rather bank the difference: city hotels run at a fraction of island race-week pricing.
Can you walk to Yas Marina Circuit from hotels?
Yes — Yas Island's hotels are either genuinely walkable to the circuit gates or minutes away by the island's shuttles and taxis, and the W Abu Dhabi is built directly over the track. From Abu Dhabi city or the Corniche it's roughly a 30-minute drive; from Dubai, 60–90 minutes each way plus race-weekend traffic.
Is it cheaper to stay in Dubai for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix?
Usually yes on the room, no on the weekend: Dubai hotels avoid race-week pricing, but you pay in 60–90 minutes each way on the E11 — and well over that after the post-race concerts let out. The smarter value play is Abu Dhabi's Corniche, 30 minutes from the gates at city prices, keeping the whole evening programme realistic.
Do Abu Dhabi hotels have minimum stays during F1 week?
Effectively yes — hotels price the Grand Prix as a Thursday-to-Monday block and single race-night stays largely disappear. That's why every link in this guide quotes the full 3–7 December block: it's the real bookable unit, and the per-night rate only makes sense across the whole weekend.
When do hotels sell out for the Abu Dhabi F1?
Yas Island typically sells out first, often by October–November, with the circuit-adjacent hotels going earliest; Corniche and city hotels hold availability longer. Prices only move one way as the race approaches, so if the island matters to you, book as soon as your race tickets are real.
